Dear I.S. 24 Families,
I’m pleased to share some exciting news for our Chancellor Ms. Aviles-Ramos. We are informing families and studnets at this time that December 23, 2024, will be an additional day of winter recess for New York City Public Schools. This day, which was originally scheduled as a school day, will now be a non-school day, offering our students, families, and staff a well-deserved opportunity to pause and recharge.
The Chancellor wishes to encourage families "to take advantage of this extra day to connect and celebrate the season together. This small gift of time is part of our commitment to supporting the well-being of our students and staff, ensuring that everyone can return refreshed and ready to start the new year."
All New York City Public schools will now be closed from Monday, December 23, 2024 - Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Schools will re-open on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
