US History and Government Regents Exam cancelled June 1, 2022

Dear I.S. 24 Families of Students in 8^th Grade,

 

Students who are programmed for our US History and Government class will not sit for a New York State Regents Exam on June 1, 2022 as the New York State Education Department has canceled this exam for this year. We just learned of this development early this morning through a letter from New York State Commissioner of Education, Ms. Betty Rosa.

 

Students will still earn credit on their High School Transcript for a passing grade in the course and we are waiting to learn of a Regents Waiver for the exam that will be placed on student transcripts. We will notify students and families as new information is released in mid-June at the next meeting of the New York state Board of Regents.
