Updates to the NYC DoE School Health Screening

Dear I.S. 24 Families and Students:

I hope and trust everyone is doing well at this time while our school is closed to in-person learning this week. I am sharing a message with you as you will all need to be aware of updates to the NYC DoE School Health Screening taking place. If any other changes take place, we will notify you as soon as we are able to.

The DOE has updated the questions on the school daily health screening form to reflect the latest guidance on:

  • Exposure to COVID-19 for fully vaccinated individuals and those who have recovered from COVID-19 in the past 90 days; and
  • Travel quarantine requirements for domestic and international travel.

Individuals who are considered fully vaccinated—two weeks after receiving the second dose in a two-dose vaccine series or two weeks after receiving a single-dose vaccine, or who have recovered from COVID-19 and finished isolation in the past 90 days—are not subject to quarantine after exposure to COVID-19 or after completing domestic travel.

International travelers must quarantine for seven days and receive a negative test or quarantine for a full 10 days after completing overseas travel, regardless of whether they have previously recovered from COVID-19 or are fully vaccinated.

Regards,
