New York City public school buildings will remain closed tomorrow, Tuesday, February 2nd, 2021.

Dear I.S. 24 Families,

Good Afternoon!

Due to expected severe weather conditions, all New York City public school buildings will remain closed tomorrow, Tuesday, February 2nd, 2021. All instruction will take place remotely for all students in 3K-12 including District 75, adult education, and YABC programs.

The DoE is sending direct alerts about the closure via SMS and email, and robocalls to all families with NYCSA accounts.

Learning Bridges, Learning Labs, and after-school programs are cancelled tomorrow. Food distribution sites are closed as well.

The City of New York has issued a local Winter Weather Emergency Declaration which includes restrictions on non-essential travel beginning at 6 AM on Monday, February 1. All vehicles are restricted on NYC roads until 6:00am on 2/2 except for essential and emergency travel. I urge you to please  exercise caution when going outside and to use caution when walking and driving and allow for additional travel time. Safety is of the utmost importance.

The NYC DoE is  working in close communication with DOT and NYC Emergency Management (NYCEM) throughout the next 24 hours. At this time, no decisions about weather-related closures have been made for Wednesday, February 3rd. We will keep you informed on Tuesday regarding operating status for Wednesday.

Please stay warm and safe tonight and tomorrow.

Bend at the knees when shoveling.

PLEASE take breaks in between shoveling and go easy on yourselves. There is time to get it done.

Regards,

Lenny Santamaria
