February 1, 2021- Instruction will take place remotely

Dear I.S. 24 Families,

Due to expected severe weather conditions, all New York City public school buildings will be closed tomorrow, Monday, February 1, 2021. All instruction will take place remotely for us as it has been. We understand the need for our MS aged students to either go shovel snow, aide a neighbor in need, possibly make some money in shoveling and just go play in the snow during daylight hours. Please note classes will be in session remotely and attendance will still be taken as this is a school day.

Learning Bridges and Learning Labs, after-school programs, adult education, and YABC programs are cancelled on February 1st . Food distribution sites are closed as well.

In-school COVID-19 testing will not take place tomorrow.

DOE central and field offices will remain open and operational.

Additional information will be posted on the DOE website: http://schools.nyc.gov.

The DoE is working in close communication with DoT and NYC Emergency Management (NYCEM) throughout the next 24 hours. At this time, no decisions about weather-related closures have been made for Tuesday, February 2.

Please stay warm and safe tonight and tomorrow.

Sincerely,

Lenny Santamaria
