Dear I.S. 24 Students and Families,
We are taking this opportunity to relay an announcement made by the NYC Department of Education based on school re-opening plans. Please see calendar dates below for what has changed.
Friday, September 18: Remote Learning Day for All Students for instructional coordination, wellness checks, introductions, orientation sessions and testing of technology.
Monday, September 21- Wednesday September 30: Remote Learning days will take place for all students in Group A,B,C, and D.
Thursday, October 1: First day of in-person Learning in Middle School. Only Group B students will come to school on this scheduled day. We are updating the school day calendar on our website www.barnes24.org and will release an update shortly.
I understand this change to the school schedule and learning calendar comes as a surprise to some students and families and we wish for nothing more to get back to teaching and learning with our students regardless of the setting.
It is my hope we all continue to be well and safe as we prepare for the year ahead as best as we can for official classes to begin this Monday.
